Schedules:
Who's got the funk...
1.
Roger FEDERER
Beats two of the hottest young players in Dimitrov and Raonic for the Bribane title and joins the elite 1,000+ win club with Connors and Lendl. Feder-ites rejoice. He's not old, just seasoned.
2.
David FERRER, Stan WAWRINKA
The Spaniard almost dropped out of the Top 10 at the end of 2014 but starts the year strong with the Doha crown. The Swiss wins the Chennai Challenger, uh, tour event.
3.
Venus WILLIAMS, Simona HALEP, Maria SHARAPOVA
Win Auckland, Shenzhen, Brisbane respectively; Sharapova closing on Serena No. 1 ranking.
4.
Poland
Aggie Radwanska and "I'm From" Jerzy Janowicz upset Serena and John Isner for the Hopman Cup exo team title.
5.
WTA Tour
Stunning turn-around in Week #1 of the women's tour, as few top stars used to take to official events prior to the Aussie Open. Good on ya.
...Who's in the trunk
5.
Gael MONFILS, Jo-Wilfried TSONGA
Top Frenchman always hurt, don't know when to stop playing exos and rest.
4.
WTA Sydney
Refusing former tournament winner and former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka a wildcard, giving them to a couple ITF-level Aussies? Tournament attendees and fans must have been thrilled.
3.
Caroline WOZNIACKI
0-6 vs. Venus after losing in the Auckland final. Needs to get over the Slam hump in 2015. Needs to find a way to beat a Williams sister.
2.
Novak DJOKOVIC, Rafael NADAL
Not a great start to the year for the ATP's Top 2 players. Big chance for Fed in Oz?
1.
Serena WILLIAMS
Chokes her singles and the mixed doubles in the Hopman Cup final to hand Poland the win, smashes racquet, calls the chair umpire a liar. Welcome back Serena!

Murray, Kyrgios Win Emotional Matches to Set Up Australian Open Quarters Date

No. 6 Andy Murray needed everything in his arsenal to defeat No. 10 Grigor Dimitrov 6-4, 6-7(5), 6-3, 7-5 in the late match on Sunday at the Australian Open, moving into the quarterfinals against an opponent who will be bringing all of Australia to its collective feet.

Dimitrov looked to be taking Murray to an inevitable fifth set after going up 3-0 in the fourth, but at 5-3 Murray broke back, and in the process broke the will of the Bulgarian. The next three games featured a flurry of errors from Dimitrov, who in the final game looked on in disbelief as a Murray groundstroke clipped the net and dribbled over for a winner on match point to end [...]
