  • Nicknamed "Bogie"…Father, Alex, Sr., was a former Soviet national tennis coach who worked with Larisa Neiland, Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Andrei Medvedev…Older sister, Katia, was a top player on University of Miami women's tennis team…Family moved to Miami in 1992 after living in Mexico for a few years…His father worked at the Montana Tennis Club in Miami for seven years before going back to Russia…The younger Bogomolov met his present coach Francisco Montana while his father was working at the club…Planned to play collegiately at Texas Christian Univ. until he won the USTA Boys' 18s Nationals in Kalamazoo, Mich. in August 2001
  • By winning title, he earned a wild card into the US Open and turned pro…Coached by former ATP pro Francisco Montana, who also works with Taylor Dent.
