Qualified for his first ATP tournament in Chennai and saved three match points in third set tie-break in his opening round victory over Prakash Amritraj before losing to No. 3 seed Carlos Moya in three sets.

2003 -- Reached his first pro QF at Romania Futures #5 in Bucharest
- 2004 -- Advanced to 2nd RD in three different Futures events, picking up one ATP point in each
- In doubles, captured first Challenger title in Oberstaufen (w/Davletshin)
- 2005 -- Turned in a SF showing at China Futures #1 in Beijing and QF at Russia Futures #3 in Korolev and Berlarus Futures #1 in Minsk
- In doubles, reached final at Saransk Challenger (w/Kravchuk)
- 2006 -- Reached his first Futures final in Uzbekistan #2 in Gulistan and SF at Poland Futures #10
- Also a QF in two other Futures stops
- In doubles, compiled a 5-3 mark in Futures finals
- 2007 -- Began season with first Futures title at India #2 and also captured title at Belarus #1 in May
- In second half of season, put together consistent Challenger results (15-11 record) with SF at Penza, Russia and Karshi, Uzbekistan

- In doubles, made his ATP debut in St. Petersburg (w/Elgin) and reached QF

Began playing tennis at age six
