- His father Paul works in construction management and his mother Elaine is an optemetrist
- Has one older sister Sarah (25) who is an elementary school teacher and also played tennis for the University of Kentucky
- Younger brother Ben (19) is currently studying at Univ. of South Florida
- Played collegiately at University of Kentucky and reached final of NCAA Championships in 2002
- Lists Pete Sampras and Andres Agassi as his idols when growing up and his parents as the most inspirational people in his life
- Likes every type of sport and is a big Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins fan
- Favorite shot is his forehand
- Current goal is to make Top 100
- If he wasn't a tennis player he would be some sort of athlete as long as it was competitve eg video games or poker
- Coached by Jonathon Thompson since the beginning of 2006.
