  • Turned pro after sophomore year of college (summer of 2001)
  • Began playing at age 4 in Tiny Tots Program at Mid-Town Tennis Club (Chicago, Illinois, USA), and has trained there ever since (except in 1998 when she trained in Key Biscayne in junior year of high school)
  • Father, Charles, is a consultant; mother, Elizabeth, works for United Airlines; has younger sister, Lily
  • Chose Stanford over Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Duke in fall of 1999
  • Grandfather, Edwin Lennox, was member of 1924 US Olympic swimming team that competed in Paris
  • Received a $5,000 Team USA grant from the USTA for finishing in the Top 10 in 1997 rankings.
