Tennis Receives Largest Growth for Traditional Sports Play Tennis Florida the Optimum Sports Marketing Vehicle in Florida
JACKSONVILLE, August 7, 2008 - According to the 2008 Sports and Fitness Participation Report, tennis experienced the largest growth for all traditional sports from 2000 to 2007 with a 30.6% increase. Tennis participation was compared to several top sports such as golf, which only received a 2.4% increase, and baseball which only saw a 1.3% increase. Other traditional sports, such as basketball and football, saw a decrease in participation over the seven-year period.
Tennis, which continues to grow despite the current economy, is a less expensive sport to play (or begin) compared to others and provides healthy exercise for players of all ages and levels. Florida is renowned as a market rich with tennis players, and also affluent luxury consumers and appeals to the advertisers looking to reach them. Year-round, Florida attracts tennis players of all ages and levels from around the world seeking superior facilities and top-level training.
Play Tennis Florida, the only official magazine of USTA Florida, has become the optimum sports marketing vehicle for advertisers in the state of Florida. In addition, Play Tennis Florida has the best advertising value/CPM with its luxury buying demographic compared to other statewide publications that have a comparable circulation. Play Tennis Florida is distributed to all tennis resorts and clubs, and reaches 50,000 USTA Florida members in-home with an average household income of more than $132,700, and 50% belonging to country clubs.
With the recent extension of Play Tennis Florida magazine's partnership with USTA Florida, the magazine will consistently provide readers with the most news-breaking and informative tennis information in the state of Florida and around the world. "We are the tennis news source in Florida, which provides advertisers an effective, economical opportunity to reach our highly sought-after target demographic- luxury-buying consumers who participate in tennis," said Richard Vach, Play Tennis Florida editor and publisher.
