Broward, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Miami Win USTA Florida Mixed Chps.

The 2008 USTA Florida Mixed Adult League Section Championships were contested Oct. 10-12, 2008 at the Florida Tennis Center in Daytona Beach, where Broward, Gainesville, Jacksonville, and Miami claimed titles at the 6.0 through 10.0 levels.
The Gainesville/Lake City team defeated Jacksonville for the 6.0 Mixed title, with the Gainesville/Lake City team comprised of Mark Martin, Michelle Childers, Tamara Gordon (captain), Nancy Winikor, Amy Tharpe, Israel Winikor, Aaron Harris, Geno Shintock, Jeffrey Gordon, Cindy Richardson, Martha Buffington, Sonny Flores and Karen Goodwin.
The Jacksonville team was comprised of Susan Kubricht, Tony Nguyn, Jeff Dao (captain), Linda Wilson, Hanz Tabora, David Lyons, Mike Asuncion, Lisa Winney, Mahtena Waters, Dane Avis, Susan Rowe (co-captain), Teresa Matthews and Quincy Pham.
Jacksonville redeemed itself at the 7.0 Mixed level, claiming the title over Tampa. Jacksonville team members were Eric Latak, Sharon Hapsis, Pilar Spies, Sharon Lang (captain), Kenneth Tejatanalert, Misty Williams, Hop Hartmann, Ed Hartmann (co-captain), Jimmy Spies, and Michael Greek.
The Tampa 7.0 runners-up team was comprised of Mike Bedosky III (captain), Sara Schnieders, Mary Marshall (co-captain), Jayne Bedosky, Rhonda Mendoza, Mike Bedosky IV, Scott Bishop and Ron Smith.
Broward County claimed the Mixed 8.0 crown behind players Gwen Tower, Dolly Rump (captain), Joanna Karpovtsev, Maria Miro, Linda Anderson (co-captain), Keith Anderson, Gene Crafts, Chris Cury, Huntly Johnson and Cliff Zoller.
St. Pete/Clearwater, the 8.0 runners-up to Broward County, were comprised of Kelly Wilhite, Lisa Hueholt, Jaye Brown, Denise Simon, Kirsten Willis, Craig Hajdich, Nathan Walker, Dave Brown, Marvin Wilhite and Rick Workman.
The Miami-Dade squad topped Jacksonville for the Mixed 9.0 championship, with team members Alina Pila, Gina Lopez (captain), Marina Stewart, Claudia Araujo, Reyner Gil, Jose Zea, Daniel Lopez, and Caesar Stewart. Jacksonville's team was comprised of Cindy McGehee, Kelly Googe (captain), Cheryl Keller, Alex Henderson, Kurt Cetin, Chris Henderson, Chris Childers, Shelly Painter, Rory Hartmann and Evan Garfinkle.
Jacksonville also captured the top-level Mixed 10.0 event behind team members Galen Perdikis, Missy Turra, Julie Breuer, Kurt Cetin (captain), Julie Weiss and Brian Landeweer.
The Mixed 10.0 runners-up, Sarasota, were comprised of Cindy Bruckmann, Larry Woodruff, Barb Lancer (captain), Tina vonKessel, Nate Griffin, Joey Gratton, Michael Karka and Nina Schmidt.
