Blackman Charged as USTA Junior Talent Finder Posted on February 20, 2009
Former ATP player Martin Blackman is calling the USTA Training Center in Boca Raton home after being given the lengthy title of "senior director for talent identification and development for USTA Player Development."
Blackman is charged with leading player development efforts by interacting with the USTA Player Development coaching and administrative staffs, as well as top coaches and at the USTA Certified Regional Training Centers. The first two regional sites in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. were recently announced, and a dozen more centers are expected to be identified by the USTA in the next 3-5 years.
The 38-year-old Blackman originally hails from New York, and played doubles with Patrick McEnroe at Stanford.
