USTA Florida Region 7 News: QuickStart, Super Senior Grand Prix Attract Players

Region 7 offers a mix of tennis education, excellent community organization examples, and of course competitive opportunities for juniors and adults.
QuickStart Tennis
In continued efforts to grow the game, the Lee County Community Tennis Association (LCCTA) hosted a QuickStart workshop at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) on Jan. 19, and in Lee County, Elaine Mettauer and Chris Capps of Fort Myers Racquet Club initiated a QuickStart program, servicing approximately 15 little ones. The LCCTA intends to expand its QuickStart efforts in the spring of 2009.
USTA Florida Community Staff Additions
Donna McVety is the new League Coordinator for Senior and Super Senior Doubles in Region 7. She is joined by her husband Jon McVety, who is now the region's coordinator for adult as well as adult and senior mixed Leagues. USTA Florida has also announced that Kevin Gaines of Fort Myers is the new USTA Florida adult league coordinator for the Charlotte/Lee Area.
