Fort Myers, Fla., Puts on "Green" Tennis Tournament

Posted on March 13, 2009

The Landings Yacht, Golf & Tennis Club of Fort Myers, FL will host its first annual invitational Landings Cup Tennis
Tournament Going Green, a tennis tournament to identify, share and promote eco-friendly initiatives, on March 21-22, 2009, beginning at noon each day.

In addition to fun tennis for players and spectators, the tournament will feature Going Green educational displays, a silent auction and food sales. Steve Shreiner, Tournament Director, tennis player and Landings resident conceived of The Landings Cup as a way to promote going green when he became concerned about the large number of Styrofoam cups used by tennis players and going to the Lee County landfill.

The Landings Cup furthers the efforts of The Landings Tennis Community to reduce, reuse and recycle.
