No. 20-ranked Flavia Pennetta tops the weak field this week in Estoril while the big dogs on the WTA Tour compete in Warsaw, with her nearest competition the No. 30-ranked Gisela Dulko who is seeded second.
Rounding out the seeds are Spain's Lourdes Dominguez Lino, Italian Roberta Vinci, Russian Vera Dushevina, China's Jie Zheng and Na Li, and Frenchwoman Emilie Loit.
No seeded player in Estoril faces a Top 50-ranked opponent in their opener.
Wildcards for the event went to Portugal's Frederica Piedade and Magali De Lattre, and Argentina's Paola Suarez.
In last year's final qualifier Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic upset the No. 4-seeded Li from a set down.
