Ferreira to No 3 in World Senior Rankings
Posted on November 13, 2006South African Wayne Ferreira rose from 11 to No. 5 after his senior title Sunday in Houston, defeating Swede Magnus Larsson in the final.
Larsson rose from 12 to No. 11 with the runner-up effort.
In the third place playoff match in Houston, Jim Courier beat Goran Ivanisevic, shoring-up his No. 3 ranking behind No. 2 John McEnroe and top-ranked Marcelo Rios, who has won every tournament he has competed in on the senior tour.
The next senior tour event will be the KIA Champions Trophy 2006 in Frankfurt, Germany, on Nov. 16-19.
Group 1 in Frankfurt will be John McEnroe, Pat Cash, Thomas Muster, and Carl-Uwe Steeb, while Group 2 will be Marcelo Rios, Goran Ivanisevic, Anders Jarryd, and Paul Haarhuis.
