Tommy Haas, who needed a wildcard to get into the main draw at the US Men's Clay Court Championships, on Thursday bounced defending champion
Marcel Granollers of Spain 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 to move into the quarterfinals.
"It's not easy playing here, to be honest," Haas told the media. "The balls are hard and the clay is slippery. If you don't hit the ball clean, it flies away."

Evgeny Korolev who bounced Spaniard
Daniel Gimeno-Traver 6-3, 7-6(4); and unseeded German
