Jelena Jankovic won her first WTA Tour title of the season at the inaugural Andalucia Tennis Experience, coming back from a break down in the third to defeat Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

It was Jankovic's 10th career singles title, and the fifth on clay. Suarez Navarro also lost to Jankovic at last year's French Open.

World No. 1 Serena Williams was defeated in the first round by No. 95-ranked Klara Zakopalova.

Poland's Klaudia Jans and Alicja Rosolska won the doubles title, defeating No. 1 seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual in the final 6-3, 6-3.

"I'm very happy with today's result," Jans said. "This was my fifth final and my second final of the year but I never won a doubles title on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, so today was a dream come true."

It was teh first tour-level win for the pairing.

"This is the biggest success for us as a team," Rosolska said. "It is the first final we won together. We have been in a few finals before but this feels great. We came on the court knowing we had nothing to lose and we stayed focused the entire match."

Jankovic began the year ranked No. 1 but after the Australian Open lost the top spot to Serena Williams, who next week loses the No. 1 position to first-timer Dinara Safina of Russia.
