One of the top destinations in the World, Miami, Florida is also home to one of the biggest, if not the biggest, tennis tournament outside the Grand Slams, the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open.
Dubbed by many in pro tennis as the fifth Slam, the Sony Ericsson Open has enjoyed a long history as one of the most popular tennis tournaments of the year, celebrated by both fans and players. Located on Key Biscayne at the Crandon Park Tennis Center, just a few miles east of central Miami, the tournament annually features virtually all of the top men's and women' players competing simultaneously.
In 2009, Andy Murray had one of his best runs beating Novak Djokovic in the final of the men's competition, while in the ladies' Victoria Azarenka over Serena Williams.
This year's edition runs from March 23 through the finals on April 4 will again boast a strong field which will likely include Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Andy Roddick along with Davydenko and Rafael Nadal and Juan Martin Del Potro.
Look for Serena and Venus Williams to again return along with Maria Sharapova, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters, Ana Ivanovic and Jankovic as the tops stars in tennis descend on Miami. Tickets for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are going fast. But if you act quickly you can still get some deals on some good, cheap tickets for quarterfinals, semifinals and even the finals.
