The last stop before the US Open is once again the Pilot Pen held August 21-29, 2009 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale. The event features both a men's and women's field with many of the top stars committed to play.
For the men, defending champ Gilles Simon returns along with Mardy Fish, David Ferrer, Jeremy Chardy, Sam Querrey, Taylor Dent and Nikolay Dayvdenko.
The women are led by 2008 winner Caroline Wozniacki who will be joined by Dominika Cibulkova, Agnieska Radwanska, 20, Alize Cornet, 19, Amelie Mauresmo, Marion Bartoli, and Samantha Stosur, total gross economic impact on the New Haven regional economy of more than $26 million.
