Scarlett Johansson Beats Sharapova for Sexiest Award
by Sean Randall
News just in is that Scarlett Johansson was named by FHM readers as the sexiest woman in the world. The new Hollywood “It” girl beat out tennis diva Maria Sharapova, who finished No. 8 in the mag’s rankings.
“One of the best things for a woman to hear is that she is sexy. I’d like to thank FHM’s readers for the huge compliment,” Johansson apparently said after learning of the honor.
For her part, Sharapova has already reached No. 1 on the WTA Tour, and has a Wimbledon title along with the most cash of any female athlete in the world. So I’m probably correct in saying she doesn’t care a whole hell of a lot. Come to think about it, who does?
As for the rest of the list, Brad Pitt girl Angelina Jolie slipped out of the top position to No. 2. Ranked third was Jessica Alba; at four Jessica Simpson; No. 5 was Kiera Knightley; six Halle Berry; seven somehow went to Jenny McCarthy; eight of course was Ms. Sharapova; Carmen Electra grabbed No. 9 and earning the final Top 10 spot was Teri Hatcher.

According to magazine Editor in Chief Scott Gramling, Johansson in part due to “her sultry voice and striking beauty.” Um, okay, whatever you say Scott.
At this time last year in the rankings, Johansson – no relation to Thomas or Joachim at least that I know of - was ranked No. 9 by the magazine while Sharapova just missed out on the year-end FHM championships finishing 19th.
For some inexplicable reason, Maria Kirilenko was again left off the list making me wonder who really reads that mag!
