Electronic Line-calling Malfunction Costs Ljubicic at Indian Wells Tennis

After losing the replay point, Ljubicic lost the next point to lose his serve, walking to his chair for the changeover while the Indian Wells crowd booed the electronic line call. Ljubicic had argued to no avail with the chair umpire that the make the electronic line-calling system had made was “ridiculous.”

Clijsters Comeback Update: Seeks Advice from Davenport

“Kim Clijsters sent me an email with questions about how to travel and live with a child on the WTA circuit,” said Davenport, who is doing TV commentator for FOX Sports’ coverage of Indian Wells. “So I think she will play WTA tournaments beside exhibition games in Wimbledon and the United States.”

Safina Drops Ball, Chance for No. 1 Ranking at Indian Wells

Safina saved a set point in winning the opening set on the tiebreak, but then sat back as Azarenka became the aggressor. Safina was up a break 3-1 in the third before dropping the last five games.
