Roddick Banks Exo Cash Ahead of Marriage Weekend

by Staff

Andy Roddick banked some honeymoon cash last week with two exhibition matches in South America ahead of this weekend’s reported marriage to Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker.

Roddick faced Luis Horna in Lima, Peru, and former No. 1 Marcelo Rios in Santiago, Chile. Rios, looking like he just emerged from a month in solitary confinement with a shaved head and skinnier than his ATP playing days, appeared rusty in losing 6-2, 6-4. Roddick beat Horna 6-4, 6-4, playing to the crowd during the affair.

Both matches, interestingly enough, were played on hardcourts.

Elton John is among the guest list this weekend for what is reported to be a small affair with family and friends neat his Austin, Texas home.

“They wanted to keep it local,” said a source in People magazine. Or any source where you can say something extremely generic and attribute it to an inside source.

As another publication concluded, “Andy Roddick’s resume includes one major title and one major hottie.”

Perhaps in large part to Roddick’s wedding, there are no American players in the draw this week at the Masters Monte Carlo — which most American players seem to skip annually, with a top U.S. player getting married or not.
