Martina Hingis Engaged to Swiss Lawyer!

While it was a tough day on the courts for my American guys, Sam Querrey and John Isner, who fought admirably but weren’t strong enough against Serbia, Martina Hingis had a memorable Friday (or week).

The five-time Grand Slam winner is a Swiss Miss no more! Hingis announced that she got engaged to Andreas Bieri, a lawyer from Zurich.

The 29-year-old Hingis has had her share of romances having been linked to Julian Alonso, Justin Gimelstob, Radek Stepanek and Sergio Garcia. For Bieri’s sake, I hope it goes better for him than it did for the others.

Isn’t she a serial “engager” as this is third time she’s been engaged. She was the black widow of sports stars for a while - she’d date them and their games would fall apart. I think Stepanek was the only outlier; however, maybe it’s contagious given how poorly Vadisova has played since they started dating.
