Former champions Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters lead their respective fields in the current US Open tennis odds according to the British betting bookmaker Ladbrokes.com.

At No. 3 in the US Open odds is 2008 finalist Andy Murray at 3/1. Novak Djokovic is the fourth choice at 12/1 while former champion Andy Roddick, Robin Soderling and Tomas Berdych are all tied at 16/1.

Defending champion Clijsters is on top for the women at 10/3. The 2006 winner, Maria Sharapova, is the second pick at 7/2. Top seed and 2009 finalist Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka are tied for third at 7/1.

5 Comments for 2010 US Open Odds: Federer, Clijsters the Betting Favorites

funches Says:

If I were in Vegas, I’d take a flier on Nalbandian.

Kimberly Says:

If I were going after value I’d probably look at Roddick and Venus.

Romi Says:

Wow, surprised to see Nalbandian so high. He’s been resurgent, but win in a best-of-five? Hard to imagine, even for me who really enjoyed watching him in Washington, DC. Also, surprised on the women’s side to see Ivanovic and Jankovic at even odds. I know Wozniacki was a finalist last year and ranked #1, but there is no aggression in her game, just moonballing. A slam by her would be tough to swallow — as sweet as she is.

contador Says:

nalbandian didn’t recover as well as i hoped he would from toronto to cincy after the DC win.

i would want to pick him but can’t see it happening in the 5 setters.
