Andy Roddick Talks 2011 in Brisbane: “I Feel Enthused and Ready” [Video]
by Tom Gainey | December 29th, 2010, 3:28 pm

Andy Roddick is already training “down under” in Australia where he begins his 2011 tennis season with a title defense in Brisbane.

In the interview below, Roddick gives his thoughts on 2011 outlook and his game.

Here are a few snippets:
“I definitely don’t feel like I was well prepared for the last little bit of last year,” said Roddick who lost his last four matches. “And it showed.”

“I feel like i had a pretty good off-season and excited to start this year fresh.”

Roddick also said he’s feeling as fit or as “right” as he’s been since last May, just before he got hit with a mono virus.

“I think it’s the first time I’ve felt right since last May so when you are fit it takes a lot of the mental pressure off. You feel like you can play any way you want so I feel fresh and I feel enthused and ready.”

Roddick beat Radek Stepanek in the 2010 Brisbane final. He finished this past year No. 8 in the ATP Rankings.

Nice words, I wish him the best. A major would be emotional. Any body else feel like no.matter who wins major(s) this year its just a big story. Especially the AO: Rafa make four in a row, history is made; rog defends AO, extends history, brings home more trophies for the babies, keeps a shot at #1; Djoko revives the magic in Australia after a monumental Davis cup win; Murray’s first major, nuff said!; berdy and sod prove big bashers can bring home majors; ferrer, super fit second spaniard would be a magic moment; and roddick gets major number two after so many close calls with fed and after 9 years from his first!
Anybody outside of the top ten would be monumental as well. Men’s tennis is just so.exciting right now, you gotta love it!

Kimmi Says:
