Novak Djokovic Aces the Conan O’Brien Show [Video]
by Tom Gainey | August 4th, 2011, 9:52 am

A day after dancing his way through an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Novak Djokovic was a guest on TBS’s Conan O’Brien show.

The topics Conan hit on are the usual talk show fluff including Djokovic’s stamp honor (“You can lick me”, Djokovic joked to Conan), his modeling experience in Montreal two years ago and his “Wing Tennis” commercial.

But I think this interview was better, more focused than Leno’s. And Djokovic is dressed much better here – no hanging tie.

On Tuesday, Djokovic brought Serbian dancers to the set. Yesterday, the World No. 1 presented Conan with a mini, palm-sized version of his tennis racquet – a good sponsor plug!

American actress Olivia Wilde and comedian Russell Howard were also on the show.

Djokovic now gets back to the business of being the best tennis in the world. The Serb, who is 48-1 this season, will be the top seed at the Rogers Cup which begins on Monday. Djokovic is a former Montreal champion winning in 2007. He lost to Roger Federer in the semifinals last year.

Nole seemed less nervous on Conan, more relaxed. I prefer that he shaved and I loved his outfit. He did great, once again. But a totally different atmosphere on this show than Leno, which can be a little like Disneyland.

Hi margot, I worry too about Nole doing this promotion, even though it is good for tennis. But burning the candle at both ends: we”ll see if this backfires. Hope not.

I’ve been checking out Murray’s tweets. Sweet how he came to the support of Kendrick.

Ben Pronin Says:

I generally like Conan better than Leno (he’s also the only one I actually try to watch regularly). But this interview seemed better because Conan didn’t really focus on tennis. How many times do we need to hear how Djokovic accomplished all his dreams in 3 days and it’s so amazing because he’s been working so hard for so long in this sport and… see even I know it by heart by now.

Also, I’m totally in love with Olivia Wilde so overall this was just a great episode.

Terra Says:

I thought Nole was more relaxed on Conan; it seemed to flow better to me. No singing and dancing needed. I enjoyed it more than Leno.
