Rafael Nadal Says See You At Indian Wells [Video]
Via video from the Melbourne airport, Rafael Nadal announced that his next tournament will be Indian Wells in March. Nadal, who lost an epic 5-set marathon to Novak Djokovic Sunday in the Australian Open final, will skip Spain’s Davis Cup tie in 10 days and also pass on the lucrative Dubai tournament at the end of the month to rest and prepare for the back-to-back Masters events at Indian Well and Miami starting on March 8.
Last season Nadal reached the finals of both U.S. events losing to Djokovic.
Nadal said before the Australian Open that he would take the month of February off to heal his ailing shoulder and body. Rafa also had knee troubles just before the start of the tournament.
Nadal is currently ranked No. 2 on the ATP computer behind Djokovic. After his final loss in Melbourne Nadal has not won a tour title since the French Open.
