Ever the showman, Novak Djokovic did his own rendition of the ubiquitous South Korean dance hit “Gangnam Style” following his China Open Beijing title today.

Djokovic handled Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 76, 62 to win his third straight Beijing crown and quite a large tournament trophy!

“I think the first set was really even, and maybe a couple points decided the winner there,” Djokovic said who is 14-0 at the event. “We both had our chances aside those breaks that we converted

“I managed to hold my nerves in the end. When you’re getting to the second set with the set advantage, mentally it is much more encouraging for you and then you try to play on that confidence run that you have. I made that early break in the second [and] I felt much more comfortable on the court.”

The win was Novak’s 32nd of his career, fourth of 2012. It also increases his 2012 points race lead over Roger Federer from 990 points to 1490 points.

“That’s the target,” Djokovic said of finishing No. 1. “This will definitely help me in that race, but it’s still quite open. There are still tournaments to come, big ones. Shanghai, obviously the first 1000 event that is next week. I want to try to get as far as I can in the tournament, obviously taking one match at a time as I always do.”

Djokovic will open with either Grigor Dimitrov or Pablo Andujar in his first match in Shanghai.

Noles such a fun loving guy,moves very well on a dance floor,wonder if he moves that well everywhere(AHEM),if he does Jelenas a very lucky girl,love Joe would have liked to have seen him dance gangnam style too lol.

jane Says:

Way to go Nole!! Woot! :)

mat4 Says:

@alison:

You mean Maria, don’t you?

mat4 Says:

Interesting interview, BTW.

Brando Says:

Glad nole remembers the loss against rafa.

Lol, just messing.

Nole is a very likeable person- charismatic and outgoing for sure.

Congrats to him on the win- richly deserved without a doubt!

mat4 Says:

@Brando:

Which one? There are so many of them…

alison Says:

Mat4 Maria/Jelena both are stunning i dont think it would matter,i can see what both would see in Nole,woman love a good looking guy, with a great SOH to go with it lol.

mat4 Says:

@alison:

I had the unfortunate idea to watch the new head commercials a few months ago, and I can assure you that there certainly is some smoke, therefore some fire, in the Maria-Novak relationship.

Anyway… Don’t want to write gossips. I like to come here for some tennis chat, but I keep missing everyone. Just a way to stay present.

alison Says:

Mat4 yeah they do seem to have a certain chemistry,watch your step Jelena,or it will be catfights at dawn,and Sashas a big man,i dont think hes someone to mess with.

Wog boy Says:

alison,
11:35am
LOL :)

BTW, are the all Yorkshire girls like you:)…. if I only knew that twenty years ago …… nothing…just thinking loudly.

Wog boy Says:

mat4,

Leave Jelena alone, OK.

Hi profile relationship don’t work.
Grendel is right, Maria’s smile is freezing smile.

mat4 Says:

@WB:

Sorry, Wog, but you have to write that post to Novak Djokovic, Monaco… not Trig, OFAH.

mat4 Says:

Anyway, just for the sake of arguing:

1. at your age you should know that Mary or Hellen, it hardly matters;

2. don’t be fooled by appearance;

3. Agassi/Graf?

alison Says:

Wogboy lol are all yorkshire girls like me,you mean headcases hmm yeah pretty much lol again,you have to feel for my significant other having to put up with me,still he new that when he married me,and we have been together nearly 25 years,so i must be doing something right, but i dont know what though.

alison Says:

Although i think Marias a beautiful girl,i think Jelenas more of a natural beauty.

Brando Says:

@alison: agree with you re maria/ jelena. Personally, out of the 2 I think should be happy with the one he’s with- I think jelena is FAR more attractive than maria. Shazza beauty, strictly IMO, has always been blown out of proportion. Plus she seems to have somewhat ‘ice cold’ kind of personality- not as engaging an bubbly as jelena seems to be. I give my vote to jelena, lol! P.S: well done on the 25 years. Many couples don’t even last 25 months, lol. Here’s wishing you 25 and many years of happiness!:-)

alison Says:

I think i could quite easily turn into a tennis groupie if i was single(sigh).

alison Says:

Thanks Brando i have to say i did fib just a little though,it will 25 years next year in June,still not far away though,siver wedding anniversary,another 25 years good god ill be 70 then.

jane Says:

Wog Boy, if you have a minute, will you post that Serbian tea recipe again please? Thanks!! BTW, did you do a Shanghai bracket? I didn’t get to it.

mat4 Says:

Are we all here about the same generation — from, let’s say, 63 to 68? It could explain why the inner communication works so well…

Wog boy Says:

alison,
I didn’t mean headcases, something nicer than that, far more positive:)

jane,

I will post it in about one hour time, with pleasure, driving at the moment.

mat4,

Agassi doesn’t count, Graf finished with tennis and he was finishing himself, but what about Agassi/Broke Shields?

mat4 Says:

jane,

I don’t know if it is the same recipe, but you prepare that tea the same way you make tea from sugar, and you add a third of plum or pear brandy. You boil it a few times.

The quantity of sugar or brandy is up to you, but I recommend to put less brandy and more sugar.

mat4 Says:

@WB:

Who is Broke Shields?

Wog boy Says:

Sorry, Brooke Shields, his first wife “movie star.”

jamie Says:

That was awesome, Nole. :P

jane Says:

mat4, thanks. But I don’t know how you make tea from sugar. And I tend to like some measurements. :)

I was trying to figure out all the tourneys Nole has won thrice; I came up with these: Bejing, Dubai (in a row), Miami, Canada, and Australian Open.I think that’s it.

Wog boy Says:

jane,

I just googled Serbian Tea but recipe is not right, though it is right to cure a cold and to be careful as this concoction can be very potent:)
First you need 25%vol plum brandy, any other brandy is somebody elses tea, if you don’t have 25%vol you can use 45%vol but add water to make it 25% otherwise you can end up on the moon after drinking it.
Use a saucepan to heat up plum brandy (also known as Slivovitz) but first put two teaspoons of sugar on the bottom (for 0.2l of brandy) and wait until it starts to caramelize and then add brandy. Some people like more sugar, I don’t.
Serve in small glasses, it goes well with fresh salat, feta or white cheese, olives, prosciutto smoked meat and above all good company. It cures everything :)
Enjoy it, buon appetito:)

Wog boy Says:

jane,

I missed Shanghai bracket, by the time I realize it is on it was too late:(

jane Says:

Thanks Wog Boy! It sounds delicious. I have to make a trip to find the plum brandy but then I am definitely trying it. :) Cheers.

mat4 Says:

@WB:

Come on… Did you really believe I don’t know who Broke Shields was? I agree I like Dominique Sanda, Franceska Dellera and, of course, Salma Hayek more, but still…

mat4 Says:

I am almost offended… ;-)

skeezer Says:

Congrats to Nole and his fans. NIce to see Nole having fun and jokin around. Hope he doesn’t ever lose that part of is personality!

Wog boy Says:

mat4,

To make a peace, another drink on me….in Melbourne:)

BTW, I read somewhere that Salma Hayek doesn’t wash her face in the morning in order to keep her skin in a good nick.
I wonder what does she do with a rest of her body, it is in more than good nick from which ever way you are looking (at her body) !

mat4 Says:

@WB:

It’s not that I don’t trust you, but I’d rather like to check. Salma, the body, the washing… else.

alison Says:

Wogboy @6.18pm,aww Thanks thats a nice compliment,there are some gorgeous girls in yorkshire(i look in the mirror at one every morning lol),and i know you live on the other side of the world,but if you ever get the chance to visit the scenery is beautiful too,i meant the bit about been a headcase though lol,probably the reason why i always had a soft spot for Andy Roddick,we are too similar though,we would probably make a very passionate couple(given half a chance),but we would end up killing each other.
