Ivo Karlovic Is Recovering From Viral Meningitis

ATP big man Ivo Karlovic is in a Miami hospital this week recovering from a case of viral meningitis. In a statement by his family, it was made clear the former Top 20 player did not have a stroke as some media had reported.

“Ivo did not have a stroke, as some outlets have stated; rather, he has viral meningitis (inflammation of the meninges of the brain). We ask for privacy during his recovery process. We thank everyone for their support and well wishes.”

According to the CDC, viral meningitis is an inflammation of the protective tissue around the brain and spinal cord. “The symptoms of viral meningitis usually last from 7 to 10 days, and people with normal immune systems usually recover completely.”

The 34-year-old took to twitter earlier today adding some levity to the situation:

We all wish him a quick and speedy recovery!

I just read in “Le Monde” that Fuentes could be ready to reveal more, since he is in a precarious financial situation.

Michael Says:

Wish the Giant speedy recovery !! It was a delight to watch him on court serving those thunderbolts at opponents. There are few who can do that today. It is sad we are missing him.

Colin Says:

It’s nice to see you saying that, Michael, after all the people online who have slammed Ivo as boring.
I don’t think he has any children, has he? When he does, it will be interesting to see if they are unusually tall.
