Good news for Juan Martin del Potro fans, the 2009 US Open champion is back hitting tennis balls again. The Argentine underwent surgery on his left wrist in March, and after two months is now taking the next step in his recovery.

Wrote del Potro on Facebook, “Hey everybody! I’ve got good news to share: I’m back on a tennis court! It was a light hit, some forehands and volleys without major movement, since I still wear the splint on my left wrist. At this point I have to be cautious, without skipping any step during the recovery time. As always, thanks for your messages!!”

No word yet on a timetable for return, but he did hope to be back for the US Open.

I am missing Delpo! Cant wait until he is back!

calmdownplease Says:

Me too.
He’s had terrible luck with injuries, if he comes back he could be a top 4 player again.
But it will probably take quite a long time, as it did before.
