Roger Federer is the featured cover celebrity in the latest Town and Country magazine. And the cover picture of Federer is quite incredible.

Town and Country

Town and Country (Max Vadukul)

Some quotes from the article:
On feeling joy when he steps onto the tennis court:
I want to be happy when I play. For me it’s the only right thing to do: to be happy, feel happy, and also share that with the people. It’s very important to me.

On his love for the game, and why he’s not quite ready to retire:
I didn’t expect to become a professional tennis player. Everything after top 100 and even top 10 for me was, like, way beyond. Yeah, I was joking about winning Wimbledon when I was younger, but did I ever really, really believe that it was going to happen? Probably not. But let’s just sort of dream big and give it a chance, you know? So everything, the whole last 10 years, has been more than I could ever ask for. And for that reason, I think, I have this pleasure and this fun, because I remember how it feels to play on Court 23. I remember how sad and angry I was when I was younger. I remember how much work I put into it. And that’s why I don’t want to give it away just like that.

On his namesake foundation, a charity that helps children gain access to education, primarily in southern Africa, and currently assists 86,400 children, with the goal of 1 million by 2018:
I just want to focus on one thing and do that a hundred percent. It’s important for the people who give you the money to see clearly what you’re trying to stand for. If somebody gives you one dollar, they know what’s going to happen with that dollar. For me it’s been a privilege being able to do that and having the trust of people.

On his legendary battle with Rafael Nadal at the 2008 Wimbledon finals:
Fans “relate to you sometimes more when you lose. And then I think I got unbelievable support from 2008 onward. They wanted to see me win again.”

Now we can see a different Roger than few years ago. Roger achieved everything in tennis and now he is also fulfilled in family so he can take all fun from tennis.

Feds philosophy on charity hits the mark. Nice to see him focused on that and the success it has had. Am sure all those kids are very thankful.

Humble Rafa Says:

They should put picture on every RF pillow. They will go together well.

According to His Arrogance, the people who play on court 23 don’t belong to the human race.

Okiegal Says:

The magazine cover shot…….Federer is tripping the light fantastic!! I now know what that quote means!! Funny pic of Roger…..wonder if he’s amused by it like I was…..just saying!!

Skeezer!

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Thanks dude.

Seems Giles spends more time stalking the fed and squawking about him rather than writing drivel on the Rafa fan site.

Boring, petty Giles with nothing better to do.

Fed looks gorgeous to me.

Go Fed. Tripping the light fantastic. I hear you Oki!

madmax Says:

He almost looks like he’s dancing!

“Fed” Astaire!

Allez Fed!

Okiegal Says:

@Madmax…..Feddy acting like Freddie…..this is a cute pic…..but being the fashionista that I am,
would not wear Nike tennis shoes with a sharp looking suit! Is that a European style?? Just wondering……it’s possible. Styles are different world wide.

MM,I also thought of Tiny Tim and his famous song, “Tip Toe Through the Tulips” LOL!!

Wog boy Says:

@Oki, I think it looks ok, when you put together what he wears under the suit, it is not bussines shirt, and colour of it that partly matches the colour of sportshoes that are not really sport shoes but something inbeetwen, I think it is ok and relaxed combination, you are right, it is more European way than American. I wouldn’t mind wearing that combination myself, and I did wear very similar combination but with Lacoste sportshoes. These days I have a problem placing my beer belly inside the suit..so I had to change my style..slightly:(

He looks like “My name is Federer, Roger Federer” …you know who?:)

Okiegal Says:

@Wog boy

I looked at it closer and he does have a turtle neck on and not a colored tie on the same shirt color, it is a more casual look for sure. That little splash of red or crimson on his shoes appear to be close in color to the shirt. Yeah, he looks sharp as always! It probably is a European style, don’t see that much in the states.

Sorry to hear about your beer belly, you and my hubby would get along famously…..LOL I hate beer, not much of a drinker, but if I were the salty Margarita would be my drink of choice!! Nice chat…..Thanks!

Wog boy Says:

Oki, thanks, it is OK, my wife put me and my cat on diet, beer belly is getting smaller and the cat is getting smaller too. If we don’t die from malnutrition..we will be right. The worst thing one can do is to share same GP with wife, to late for me now.
I feel sorry for the cat, she is looking at me (I use to feed her), but I can’t give her any extra food, not even little beer..vet’s order:(

Okiegal Says:

@Wog boy……You’re too funny…..yeah we wives can be spoil sports sometime. When I diet hubby loses and I gain…..I hide candy all over the house unbeknownst to him! Lol

madmax Says:

Wog boy!

Yesssss James Bond! Very “stirring!”

Hippy Chic Says:

Very nice,i often prefer smart casual instead of a suit, just one thing thoug Federer shouldve wore shoes instead of plimsoles IMO….

Giles Says:

Where’s the bandana?
madmax??

Brando Says:

Nice pose by the Federina. Love the lifting of the leg: a classic ladies pose. Surprised the usual caressing of the hair was not in the photo though otherwise: honey you look like a true doll who loves dressing up for the camera!

RZ Says:

It looks very Town and Country, so props to the photographer, makeup/stylist, and Fed for accomplishing what they were probably intending.

Giles Says:

Brando. Lol

Sirius Says:

Used to think a refined troll. Now turns out to be a typical one

subo Says:

SG1 Says:

Looks a bit like a Will Ferrell character in that get up.
