Following a dramatic 5-set win over Kei Nishikori, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga celebrated like few have on Chatrier. Tsonga stormed out to a 61, 52 lead until the match was stopped for 35 minutes when part of the scoreboard broke off falling on fans.

Once play resumed Tsonga lost his momentum. He did win the second but dropped the next two. Eventually, though, he wore out the 25-year-old 61, 64, 46, 36, 63 to reach his second French Open semifinal.

After missing the early part of the season with an arm injury, Tsonga was excited as ever.

And then inscribed “ROLAND JE T’AIME” in the dirt to thank the fans.

Hearty congrats to Tsonga !! A great win for him and a big boost to his career when he is lying low. Having reached the semi finals, he can perhaps dream of becoming the French player to win Rolland Garros after a long long time.
