Berdych Battles Vesely In Shenzhen Rematch; Thiem, Dimitrov, Khachanov Headline Chengdu QFs

Quarterfinal play will take place in Asia on the ATP on Friday. In Shenzhen, top Czechs Tomas Berdych will collide with countryman Jiri Vesely.

The defending champ Berdych beat Vesely in the quarterfinals at Shenzhen last year.

Richard Gasquet also faces Mischa Zverev, Janko Tipsarevic continues his comeback against Malek Jaziri and Bernard Tomic battles Thomaz Bellucci.

In Chengdu, China, rising star Karen Khachanov seeks his first ATP semifinal against No. 4 seed Feliciano Lopez. The 20-year-old Khachanov is in his second ATP quarterfinal after reaching the Kitzbuhel last eight over the summer.

Top seed Dominic Thiem advanced today to face French Open quarterfinal Albert Ramos-Vinolas.

Kevin Anderson saved two match points in a win today over Nick Kyrgios 3-6, 7-6(6), 62. Anderson will face Serb Viktor Troicki.

And Grigor Dimitrov will take on Diego Schwartzman.
