Novak Djokovic Ripped His Shirt Again In A SF Loss Today In Shanghai [Video]

It’s becoming a habit. When Novak Djokovic loses he rips his shirt. He did it at the US Open in his last event and again earlier today in a shocking 6-4, 6-4 loss to Roberto Bautista Agut in the Shanghai Masters.

After dropping the first set to the Spaniard, Djokovic smashed his racquet, then proceeded to clean up the debris.

A few games later, he went after his shirt.

“In terms of results it was up and down, but there are definitely things that I need to regain from the emotional, mental point of view,” Djokovic told the press.

“So I guess I’m focusing on that more. It’s a transition somewhere in between, maybe just exhausted by the amount of matches I have had in the last 15 to 20 months,” he added.

“Maybe all in all that’s the cause of me feeling this way. But, I had to experience this sooner or later. I knew I could not go on playing at the highest level for so many years all the time.”

A contentious Djokovic also argued with chair ump Carlos Bernardes.

Giles Says:

That is showing a lot of respect to Uniqlo. NOT. They should stop sponsoring this barbarian.

Jenny shekersavva Says:

novak djokovic maybe a good tennis player but he spoils it by his bad character and his demonstrations of imagi ng other people to get the audiences attention he has no respect for his teem who support him

AndyMira Says:

Personally,i don’t care much if nole wants to rip a thousands shirts or smash a thousands racquets..he’s welcome to it as long as it not involves other people..A player has to endure a very high pressure during a match..Not helping at all if you’re tired or has to play in hot condition for 2,3 hours..Adrenaline sure is running very high..It’s very easy to lose your cool..especially if you’ve got a temper like nole..Very very hard to control yourself[i know,i've got temper myself]..To me,rip shirt..smash racquet is nothing compared to what Bratty Nick just did the other day..To me,THAT’S untolerable..my half countryman or not..

Willow Says:

AndyMira The raquet smashes i dont have an issue with, as its a way for players to let out their frustrations, Novak, Andy, Roger have done it, not to mention many others,so Novaks not exactly alone on this one, but when it comes to ripping shirts i do think of kids that work in sweat shops producing those shirts so thats what im not keen on, but Novak is a gentleman when it comes to his fans, and wouldnt dream of tanking a match,so theres a big difference between him and Kyrios, who seems to lack any respect when it comes to the paying public, or his opponents, Novak cares very much, Kyrigios doesnt so theres a big difference ….

J-Kath Says:

Andy Mira

Firstly I acknowledge you have a right to your opinion.

However, Nick is 21 years old. His background is hardly conducive to knowing how to ease seamlessly into the celebrity group of top sportsmen and behave like a gentleman (plus he has an uncouth mouthy brother). Apart from his nasty confrontation with Stan Waw., he is hardly much worse, than a whole list of other sports-people which is why Andy Murray and Nole are offering to chat, help, give him their time and guidance.

Nole’s conduct, Andy’s too frequently, MacEnroe, Federer, etc. etc. several football team individuals enrage a lot of people and in summation are not much better than vulnerable Kyrios.

Kyrios is more to be pitied than reviled.

chrisford1 Says:

Andy Mira has it. Djoker is frustrated he is not playing better and tries to fire himself up. In his own way, Andy all these years is directing anger at himself not executing well necause like Novak, HE CARES! Murray is in the arena, trying to give is best shot, play his best. If losing, trying to lose like a pro is expected to – going down fighting.
Kyrgios, like his more offensive co-national Tomic, gets to a point where he is losing, so why even try. He owes nothing to the sport or the fans…as Tomic said: “Why care? I am worth 9 million.”

While certain Fedal fans were irritating, “Roger has far too much class to berate himself or officials like Andy does (ignoring the times Fed does berate any target when losing). “Uncle Toni ensured Rafa learned to behave, even if it meant forcing him to play a full practice session without a drink of water and walk home after. Novak’s coaches were too weak to impose harsh discipline.Ergo, Nadal is the better man , now.”

Champions react different.
But none pull a Tomic or Kyrgios move on a regular basis.

J-Kath Says:

Willow

Just saw your comment. In my opinion, Kyrios does care (after the event)….but it will take some time before he slowly becomes more responsible.

Willow Says:

Advantage J-Kath, yeah my late would say he suffers from foot and mouth disease, meaning everytime he opens his mouth he puts his foot in it !
Question was Novak that bad, or was RBA that good ?….

Happy for Andy hope he wins the title ….

Willow Says:

My late father would say ….

Okiegal Says:

I will venture to bet Nick is bipolar…..I happen to be very close to people that are and they r either way up high or bottomed out……once in awhile on an even keel. I made that assumption during his last match……if he is then he may not can control it…..a very talented young man and sad really……

J-Kath Says:

Okiegal

As I remind myself I did a Counselling course (one of the papers I promised to send to you but time has passed) – but there are so-called normal people strongly influenced by background who simply do not know any better. They react to being attacked by instinct – Until They Understand Why They are re-acting so badly – even then it doesn’t always work re. our grown-up top players.

AndyMira Says:

Firstly,i want to say..OH.MY.GOD..Ha ha ha..never before my post got an attention like this..Ho ho ho..Thank you my dear poster for noticing my post..Okay..

@Willow..About ripping that poor shirt..i don’t think when Nole did that,he can control of his action..For a patience, cool, under control people, they maybe don’t understand this but as a person who’s got a temper..i do understand Nole’s action..When anger suddenly seized your body.it was like a flame..you know, the kind of flame that erupted suddenly when you guys pour an alcohol into your pan?yeah, that kind of flame..It will erupt so suddenly and we’re totally lose control of our rational mind..Do you guys think Nole,in his sober and calm state will rip that shirt in front of Uniqlo executives purposely?A company that sponsored him for what?20 million,30 million?I don’t think so..Nole is a very gracious champ but sometimes there’s only so much you can do..especially if you’re under a huge pressure, tired, maybe in pain, other problems?he’s human being after all..

@CF1…Always love your post..

@JK…With all due respect,i also acknowledge you have a right to your opinion..Yeah,Nick is 21 years old..Born in a wealthy family, been spoiled from very young,Want something got everything..It’s very hard to act decently when almost all of your life you act totally the opposite..That’s why i’ve never criticized him before but i think his time almost up..21 years old is hardly a kid anymore..have to start taking responsibility very seriously from now on..And a very very good luck to Andy and Nole..And i already imagine what a tough road those two have to go through..

J-Kath Says:

Andy Mira

Not sure I see much difference between Nick and Nole according to what you have said.

“When anger suddenly seized your body.it was like a flame..you know, the kind of flame that erupted suddenly when you guys pour an alcohol into your pan?yeah, that kind of flame..It will erupt so suddenly and we’re totally lose control of our rational mind”.

As I don’t agree with the comment for either Nole or Nick. Time for me to leave the subject.

Ciao. and Alhamdulillah.

Okiegal Says:

Novak was up against a very determined Agut which was very frustrating for him. Nick in the wrong frame of mind…..there is something wrong with that boy. He just returned from a title trophy, playing impeccable tennis to playing the “I don’t give a hoot about winning at Shanghai” attitude…….weird behavior! Will he ever grow up?? He loves interacting with the crowd…..definitely does not have his mind on the match…..bipolar….I would bet my last dollar!

Colin Says:

I’m really enjoying this outbreak of self destruction on the part of tennis players, coinciding magically with Andy’s run of good form. It’s such a nice change not to be hearing how he is his own worst enemy and so on.

In his prime Rafa seemed immune to self-doubt, but the sheer physical demands of his style were bound to catch up with him, and in fact the burn-out has come later than I’d have expected.

Roger can still play beautifully, but he can no longer rely on doing so whenever he needs to.

Considering the huge points lead Nole had over Andy a mere few months ago, it’s amazing that the gap has narrowed to hundreds rather than thousands.

Not for many a day has it been such a pleasure to be a Murray fan, and the man himself can now really enjoy playing tennis.

Bingo Says:

Novak is an arrogant idiot. What a poor #1 he has been. He always misbehaves when losing,I feel sorry for his opponents, having to put up with him. He has no class or style and what kind of example does he set for young talented players coming through! It’s no wonder he is so disliked😠

J-Kath Says:

Colin: Never realised you were an Andy fan – says a lot about the imposed fairness us Andy fans has had to acknlowedge.

Danica Says:

i am happy rba won nole lost his mojo and confidence since his wife threathen him to divorce cos of his cheating and womanizing….being fake cheater and liar was his advantage in crucial moments in final moments…era of novak is finish now is andy time….go andy

J-Kath Says:

Danica

What you say comes as a huge shock to me. Are the sources of the information seriously correct?

django Says:

Danica
Is that really you.

jalep Says:

J-Kath, if that’s the real Danica, I’m a monkey’s uncle.

AndyMira Says:

@DANI[THE SAINT]…ATTENTION!ATTENTION!ONCE AGAIN..PLEASE,COME OUT IMMEDIATELY HONEY!YOUR FAKER HAS STRIKES AGAIN @ 5:50 PM!

ROGER AND OUT!

AndyMira Says:

@DANI[THE SAINT]…ATTENTION!ATTENTION!ONCE AGAIN..PLEASE,COME OUT IMMEDIATELY HONEY!YOUR FAKER HAS STRIKES AGAIN @ 5:50 PM!

ROGER AND OUT!

AndyMira Says:

Opps!Sorry guys..Double post!Didn’t mean it..

RZ Says:

Maybe Uniqlo needs to give Nole more loosely-collared shirts. Nishikori doesn’t seem to have those issues!

Danica Says:

You guys,
I would not have made so many gramatical errors had it really been me. Again, this was not me previously. I will contact the administrators of the site about this.

As for the match, didn’t see it but considering Nole’s state of mind of late and problems he already had RBA, I am not surprised in the least. He seems mentally totally out of it. His opponents of course deserve the wins but Nole seems to be going through some phase that is quite negative.

Personally, I don’t care about shirt ripping and racquet throwing. I actually welcomed these news as that meant he cared about his game and the result. Tanking matches and saying “I don’t owe them anything” about the crowd that pays big dollars to see a player perform and also contributes to the paycheck, now that’s a no no in my book of manners.

Danica Says:

AndyMira,
Thank you again ;). I was attending some 10hr workshops today and didn’t have the chance to stop by here before. At least, you can distinguish between me and the jerk.

Jalep,
Lol, thank you too ;).

Danica,
I agree with you in one thing: Nole lost his mojo for whatever reason. Everything else you said is just the product of your mean imagination.

Danica Says:

Plus, if Andy wins everything by the end of the year, he deserves the #1.

AndyMira Says:

Dani..Once again,ANYTHING FOR YOU SIS!I’m really glad you ‘came’ here as soon as you can..But a little bit surprised he came here as ‘Danica’ twice this week alone..Take Care sis..

AndyMira Says:

Dani…If you check his post now and what?4,5 days ago, there’s a bit difference, his English then much better than today..It was like there’s 2 different guy who wrote it..You feel the same?

Danica Says:

AndyMira,
Thanks for pointing out the differences. I don’t read these posts “of mine” with attention to detail because I don’t care about them really. Let’s not waste more time on him/them ;)

AndyMira Says:

Dani..Okay sis..got it..Btw..my pc don’t have a tools like Okie to do an emoji’s..i can only say in words..Love you too!He he..

J-Kath Says:

Gosh to the real Danica:

At least I was suitably shocked!!!

Giles Says:

Sooooo Jane thinks that just because joker hugged Delpo after his loss at the OG he (joker) should be nominated for the Sportsmanship Award. Is she serious??

Danica Says:

He should have. He IS a great sportsman, a graciuos loser, an overall great guy who appreciates good points from his opponents and is not shy to gift them points if he thinks they deserve. As someone who still has to get out of closet regarding supporting Nole, you know that very well ;)
