ADHEREL
Serena Williams has now won 25 of her last 26 matches at the Australian Open…
How the hell does the tallest doubles team pairing ever, 6-foot-10 Ivo Karlovic and 6-foot-9 John Isner, lose to two Argentines in doubles?…

have always been a fan of Rebound Ace. In my mind, the surface seemed to offer more classic, hard-fought battles than any other Grand Slam, year in, year out.

Murray Set to Challenge Federer for Australian Supremacy? Why Not
For a guy with so much at stake this year – the Olympics, Pete Sampras’s 14 Slams mark, the French Open - Roger Federer’s start to 2008 hasn’t exactly been ideal.

Philippoussis Loses, Should Still Receive Aussie Open Wildcard
It may be time for a re-think from Tennis Australia, which oversees the lowest event on the four-Slam totem pole behind the French, Wimbledon and the US Open.

ESPN+TTC: Tennis on TV Becomes More Like… Tennis
Televised tennis has become a little bit more like a real match of tennis with today’s announcement that ESPN and The Tennis Channel (TTC) are joining forces for coverage of Roland Garros and the Australian Open.
If you’re fortunate enough to get TTC, there are some real gems to this deal. For one, you’ll be treated [...]

AO Diva Drama: The Women’s Final Preview
When two diva’s take to the court for the women’s final of this year’s Australian Open, fans should be provided with enough drama to last us until Roland Garros.

Last week on Off the Baseline, I wrote up a quick post on the conundrum I encountered when trying to watch the Andy Roddick-Marat Safin match, aka the night match in Melbourne. Tonight, fans will endure the same punishments when Roddick meets world number one Roger Federer in the night match.
The basic premise of [...]

Serena, Young Guns Highlight Week One of Australian Open
As I watch Rafael Nadal polish off my boy, my runner-up pick, Andy Murray, thought I’d put together a few notes on the week in Australia we just saw (or didn’t see). By the way, this Murray-Nadal match is the best of the tournament thus far. Great tennis. Keyword being tennis.
