Ivanovic Wasnt Mentally Ready to Win…Yet
It wasn’t her best match of the tournament, in fact it may have been her worst. That’s a pretty scary thought considering Maria Sharapova didn’t lose a set in beating the new world No. 2 Ana Ivanovic in Saturday’s final.

Sharapova Sublime in Australian Open Title Win Over Ivanovic
Russian starlet Maria Sharapova earned her third career Grand Slam titles Saturday defeating Ana Ivanovic7-5, 6-3 to win the Australian Open women’s singles title in Melbourne.

Serb’s Up: Djokovic, Ivanovic, Jankovic All Aussie Open Title Contenders

2008 Tennis — The Women’s Game
With Justine Henin putting up a Roger Federeresque year in 2007, the resurgence of the Williams sisters and the arrival of two instant crowd favorites from Serbia, the WTA is coming off a pretty good year.

Tennis: The Womens Game — Lessons For Us Too
There’s a strong implication recreational players can gain from the 2007. The main focus is on the world’s two best players, and as I see it, it can be grasped not just by recreational adults but also by juniors, parents, and coaches.

Grand finale in Madrid — Sharapova, Ivanovic, Chakvetadze, Henin
In a surprise run of events this week in Madrid, Maria Sharapova is playing perhaps her best tennis of the season, Serena Williams pulled out with injury, Anna Chakvetadze is through to the semis and Justine Henin double bagelled Marion Bartoli.
