Mahut, F-Lo, Vesnina, Halep Win Grass Titles Entering Wimbledon
“She played the conditions much better than I did,” said Hampton, who is projected to rise to No. 25 in the rankings. “Honestly, I was surprised how she was even hitting the ball in the court [in the wind], and on top of that she was playing some very good tennis. She was very deserving of the title today…I have given myself like a two-hour time limit to sulk, basically the journey up to Wimbledon — I can sulk during that and maybe have a little chocolate, and then move on and get on with Wimbledon.”

Oudin Beats Jankovic, Wins 1st Career Title Monday at WTA Birmingham
On Monday Oudin earned her first title by beating a former world No. 1, Jelena Jankovic 6-4, 6-2. Oudin is now 2-0 career vs. Jankovic after beating her at Wimbledon a couple years back.

Unseeded Williams Draw Seeds at Eastbourne; WTA/ATP Previews
The return of Venus and Serena Williams, both unseeded on the grasscourts at Eastboune after extended injury absenses from the tour, is the news in the final week of grasscourt warm-ups before the spotlight lands on the All England Club and 2011 Wimbledon.

Li Shows Sharapova Grass Exit in AEGON Classic Final at Birmingham
“I came here to play as many matches as I could on grass, and I’ve played opponents with different types of game,” Sharapova said. “I would have loved to win but she was the better player today and she did many things better than me. She returned great. I put her under no pressure whatsoever on her serve.”

Querrey Dines on Fish in AEGON Queen’s Club Grass Final
“Maybe nerves got to me, or the moment,” Fish said of coming up short. “I mean, I just wanted to play well at this tournament ever since I’ve been coming here, and if you want something so badly, sometimes it’s not a good thing.”
