Djokovic, Pennetta, Bryans Win Indian Wells Titles

“As I said before the match today, very few points will decide a winner, and that’s what happened,” Djokovic said. “I needed to really be in the top of my game and very concentrated the last moment in order to win. That’s what I’ve done. Very proud of my achievements during this tournament.”

Thursday U.S. Davis Cup Team Interview Transcript

RYAN HARRISON: Well, I think I have the advantage of being a practice partner a couple years ago, also being a part of that fantastic tie we had in Switzerland. Like Jim said, I played the dead rubber match for me to get out there. We discussed a lot of that stuff in the past. Obviously we talked about it, just like we talked about many other things for this match. I think we’re both on the same page. We both have a very clear mindset of what has to be done in order to get the job done. We’re going to try to go out and execute tomorrow.

Bryan Brothers Tie Woodies Record of 61 with Madrid Title

“There are a lot of opportunities out there to get that 62, but it would be more special at a Grand Slam,” said Bob Bryan after the duo contested their 99th career final. “We’re just really happy to win this one right now against such a great team; one of our rivals of the past three years. It feels awesome to share a record with the Woodies; those guys were our idols. We were lucky to grow up when they were at their best and we learned a lot from them; they played a beautiful game of doubles. To be mentioned in the same sentence as those guys is everything to us. It’s what makes number 61 so special.”
