8 Top 10 Players Exit Wednesday at ATP Montreal, WTA Toronto

No. 3 Stan Wawrinka, No. 5 Tomas Berdych, No. 6 Marin Cilic, No. 9 Gilles Simon, No. 14 Grigor Dimitrov and No. 15 Gael Monfils were all shown the exit, with unseeded Americans and Aussies doing the majority of the upset damage.

Isner, Nishikori Headed Toward Final Meeting at Citi Open

“He takes really big cuts on the ball and if I miss my spot he really likes pace,” Isner said of Berankis. “He did it one time in the third set as well. He just caught fire and was swinging away. I didn’t panic because it was one set to go. I could have very easily lost that [second] set in a tiebreaker so it was all good.”
