Djokovic, Venus Williams Win Titles; Davis Cup Drama
The second week of the interesting “Mexico Swing” on the new WTA Tour calendar, which is down time for most all of the top players who have taken the two weeks off to prepare for tournaments at Indian Wells and Miami.

Djokovic Cleans Up in Dubai; Monfils Not the Man in Mexico
With the top guys out, it was Novak Djokovic again taking a big title. While in Mexico Nicolas Almagro upended Gael Monfils to win the Acapulco title.

Well, that was pretty empathic wasn’t it? Rafael Nadal didn’t just beat the guy with the most clay court wins on the year, he murdered him.

Ferrero Does the Unthinkable, Beats Nadal on Clay
Has there ever been a more forgotten former World No. 1 than Juan Carlos Ferrero? Just after the turn of this century Ferrero was not just the King of Clay, he was the King of Tennis, winning the French Open, reaching the US Open final and then a few weeks later finally ascending to the No. 1 Ranking. But then poof, just like that he’s gone.
