Clijsters Back in French Open Women’s Preview; American Tennis Pile-on

Kim Clijsters is back from injury and seeded No. 2. It will be interesting to see if the Belgian can quickly up her game to the physical and mental rigors of the red clay. Clijsters will start against Belarus’ Anastasiya Yakimova, and is looking at a possible third-rounder against No. 25 seed Maria Kirilenko, and fourth round against No. 7 Maria Sharapova, facing a Russian “Maria” onslaught.

Wozniacki Something to Prove at 2011 Australian Open; Preview [OPINION]

The Dane’s path to the quarters would likely have to go through Gisela Dulko (a tough opener), Tamira Paszek, Cibulkova, Bartoli, and Henin. Not likely to happen considering she enters Melbourne on the heels to two exhibition losses and a first-round WTA tournament exit, all the while trying to figure out how to play with her new Yonex.

ATP/WTA Pilot Pen Tennis Preview: Davydenko! Kuznetsova!

Lindsay Davenport was 1-5 in career New Haven finals, while Venus Williams won four in a row from 1999-2002; no U.S. stars this year (wildcard Shaughnessy is only U.S. player!).
