WTA Miami Prediction: Pain, For You Viewers

The pain of no one being even close to challenging Serena. Kerber is No. 13 this year if you tally only 2017 points. Pliskova has won two smaller events this year but hasn’t been able to put herself in position to win the bigger events like the Australian Open and Indian Wells.

Serena Wins, Sets Thursday Meeting with Unlikely Lucic-Baroni at Aussie Open

Lucic-Baroni turned the power tennis-table over on Pliskova, striking 42 winners to Pliskova’s 23. Pliskova in the second set took a medical timeout to treat a blister on the bottom of her foot. Her left leg taped high and low, Lucic-Baroni took an injury timeout at 3-4 in the third set, then won 12 of the last 13 games.

Halep Halted, Women’s Upsets Abound on Day 1 at Australian Open

“I think she played a very high standard,” Halep said after the loss. “I had pain at my knee. For me, in the second set, it was difficult to move anymore, but she deserved to win. She was aggressive, and she hit very strong, the balls.”
