Thursday U.S. Davis Cup Team Interview Transcript

RYAN HARRISON: Well, I think I have the advantage of being a practice partner a couple years ago, also being a part of that fantastic tie we had in Switzerland. Like Jim said, I played the dead rubber match for me to get out there. We discussed a lot of that stuff in the past. Obviously we talked about it, just like we talked about many other things for this match. I think we’re both on the same page. We both have a very clear mindset of what has to be done in order to get the job done. We’re going to try to go out and execute tomorrow.

“It’s always interesting with them around, I’ll tell you that,” McEnroe said, to laughter from the press corp. “Where they are, hilarity ensues most times, in a good way. I get a kick out of watching them practice. Even when they’re on the practice court, they start fighting with each other, I just think it’s hilarious. They always add a certain dynamic to the matches. On top of that, they’re the No. 1 team in the world. That’s always something that you want to have on your side.”
