Tennis stars are climbing the ranks of the “Pop Culture Hot List” Top 10 at SI.com as some of the top players have recently taken, or are taking to the wedding altar.

Andy Roddick comes in at No. 6 on the countdown, behind No. 5 Kim Kardashian and Brittny Gastineau sitting courtside at a Knicks game, spending much of the game texting and twittering.
Roddick was the only Top 10 player to skip the Masters Monte Carlo this week in preparation for the nuptials.
“The couple is expected to get married this weekend in Roddick’s hometown of Austin, Texas, in a ceremony that should get more attention than a Texas football game,” says SI.com. “As the story goes, Roddick spotted Decker in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, had his agent contact hers and the rest is history. For some reason, that strategy has yet to work for me.”
Roddick did beat out No. 7, Entourage’s Jeremy Piven dating Jessica Canseco.
No. 1 is Roger Federer, currently wrapping up his honeymoon after getting married last weekend, and promptly taking to the court in Monte Carlo this week.
“It seems one of the greatest tennis players of all time is transitioning into the next phase of his life,” says SI.com. “Not only did Federer and his longtime girlfriend, Mirka Vavrinec, get married in his hometown of Basel, Switzerland, last weekend, but also the newlyweds are expecting their first child this summer. The news hasn’t been as good on the court: Federer hasn’t won a tournament since last year’s U.S. Open.”
Federer arrived in Monte Carlo today and met the media regarding his nuptials in Basel.
“Well, we’ve been talking about it for many years now,” Federer told reporters. “But last year was kind of busy. All of a sudden it was the Olympics, you know, so it made it difficult to kind of get it organized. So we figured, Let’s wait and do it next year. And we always knew that if we do it, we do it pretty quickly, you know, because I didn’t want to have a huge wedding. So thank God the places where we got married were ready, you know, to take us on board, because it was still Easter Saturday, many things were closed.”
