Kim Clijsters, Nikolay Davydenko Withdraw from French Open
Another Friday and another round of withdrawals. Today US Open champion Kim Clijsters and Russian Nikolay Davydenko have withdrawn from the French Open.
Clijsters has been pained by a left foot injury. Davydenko has been dealing with a wrist issue since February.
If healthy, both players would have been legitimate threats to go deep in the tournament.
Juan Martin Del Potro, Tommy Haas, Igor Andreev, James Blake, Sania Mirza, Anna Lena Groenefeld and Sabine Lisicki are a few of the other players who will not be in Paris. Unfortunately that list is likely grow.
The French Open begins a week from Sunday in Paris.
