Here is Venus Williams’s Really, Really Bad Dress [Video]

With her own fashion/design company, Venus Williams should know what looks good and what doesn’t. But judging from the outfit she wore today in her win over Akgul Amanmuradova, I don’t think her time away from the game hasn’t done her fashion sense much good.
The elder Williams and five-time champion at Wimbledon, made her first round debut today wearing some sort of ripped midieval smock. It looked horrible.
“It was a jumper. Jumpers are very now, as is lace,” Venus explained. “The shoulders have a lot of draping, which is also in the moment. It’s just a trendy dress. It’s fun. I’m really into zippers, so it has a focal point of a zipper in the front. And the back is a cut-out, or a peek-a-boo. It’s just fun.
“Right now I’m really trending towards simplicity. I’m not sure why. It’s just how I feel right now. Everything is getting more simple.”
Trendy? Fun? Venus, has had some good outfits in the past – The Can Can and the Nude – but this one I don’t think is going to catch on.

Venus moves on to meet the 40-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm in the second round.
