Win in Hamburg and Baku respectively. Or unrespectively. The hardcourt season is here, why is there claycourt tennis in Hamburg, and the WTA’s only event of the week is in Azerbaijan? Azerbaijan! 

3. US Open Series
Tennis on TV again in the U.S.! Just like the old days! The Tennis Channel showing actual live tennis instead of 3-year-old taped shows! ESPN2 showing tennis instead of 24-hour poker (until poker got busted).
 
4. Washington Kastles
Who says you can’t buy league titles? 


5. Elena DEMENTIEVA
The retired Russian beauty marries hockey player Maxim Afinogenou in a star-studded Moscow wedding.

5. Martina HINGIS
Keeping Roger Federer waiting on his invite to play Olympics mixed doubles? Are you kidding? 

4. Serena WILLIAMS
Unseeded in Stanford and needs protected ranking to get into the US Open — but more trunk for her opponents if she can find her groove this summer without getting re-injured. 

3. John ISNER
Big man needs to learn how to close out finals, especially against fellow Americans. Drops to 2-5 in career finals after Atlanta where he had two championship points.
 
2. Andy RODDICK
Lots of retirement talk — not from Andy, but from the pundits. Should emerge at first U.S. summer hardcourt event with a big F-U chip on his shoulder. Needs to find a new coach. But not a new wife. 

1. ATP
ESPN takes the ATP to court to get the undercover documents from players busted for gambling — and lose. Judge says no. The players sued the ATP, claiming they were victims of “selective enforcement.”

Maybe being mad is just what Roddick needs to get fired up. A new coach? Maybe that too, although Stefanki seemed really good for Roddick at first (09-10 was a good period for him), just as Connors initially had a good impact on Andy too (end 06-07 also was a good period). So maybe every two years he needs a fresh perspective. :)

Roddick is done, no new coach will change anything. He had his shot during that last good stretch for him. Time to put some of the blame on him when he got taken out early during the slams in that run when he kept reverting back to defensive baseline despite his game being suited for aggressive style of play(and the fact that aggressive play gave him good results.) To have expected to win a slam playing that style against higher quality opponents with his game with the competition at the top was foolish. Even fed has trouble winning a slam now. With the better and younger ball strikers these days, age, the djokovic show, and losing his movement and losing steam on his serve, Roddick is finished. Unlucky with that wimbledon final.
