Andy Roddick: I Won’t Go Mental Again, Book It
Andy Roddick drew the ire of many for his behavior Monday night in Cincinnati. During a loss to Philipp Kohlschreiber, the American received a point penalty for ball abuse early in the third set. The penalty came on 30-40 automatically giving Kohlscreiber the lead and eventually the win.
On twitter today, Roddick made light of the situation joking he would keep his mental outbursts in check through the US Open.
“Won’t go mental from here through us open. Book it. Ha ha. Was the first point penalty of my career and will be the last as well” Roddick tweeted.
Because of the loss Roddick’s ranking will drop out of the Top 20 next week, leaving him in a tough seeding for the US Open.
Roddick will play in Winston Salem next week then the US Open. Roddick was forced out of Washington and Montreal because of abdominal injury.
