Roger Federer’s Jet Lag Tip: Don’t Go Out For A Romantic Dinner When You Land! [Video]

Roger Federer made a visit to the iconic Burj Al Arab over the weekend in Dubai. Since Federer calls Dubai his second home, he wasn’t awed by the stunning hotel, so he discussed other topics including how he deals with jet lag.

Federer says to combat the affliction the Swiss recommends you eat right and get as much sleep as possible on the plane. Then when you land he suggests you avoid any romantic dinners or time alone and instead go out and meet with people who can keep you awake (as opposed to your significant other who would put you asleep?).

Would Mirka agree with this philosophy?

Earlier today Federer advanced to the second round of Dubai, a tournament he has won five times before.

Okiegal Says:

My favorite sponsor of Roger’s is Lundt

Okiegal Says:

Oops sent that before I was ready……Lindt chocolates are wonderful!! The Swiss know how to do chocolate!!

Giles Says:

Belgian chocolates are the world’s best. Try some!

queen Says:

Belgian chocolates r the best!

Okiegal Says:

Well, I don’t know if they’re on the American market. If I knew a name I would check it out……in they’re better than Lindt, I must try some!!

Giles Says:

^^^ I do believe they are available in the US now. Try google
Belgian chocolates. My personal favourite are the dark truffles made by Gartner. Delish!

Okiegal Says:

I will look for them and make a decision if the Swiss or the Belgians are the best chocolates!!

Hippy Chic Says:

Lindt,Swiss,Belgium,Cadburys,Galaxy chocolate is chocolate and i love them all,but Belgium chocolates are definetly the best IMO.

Purcell Says:

Giles: so I suppose that if Roger was Belgian, Swiss chocolate would be the best!

Okiegal Says:

You guys have definitely got my attention about Belgian chocolates, if Chic says they are, they must be!! I agree with everything she says!! Lol

Hippy Chic Says:

Okiegal DITTO sister lol,Belgium chocolates are the best, the thing is they aint good for the waistline,as i found out over christmas when i open a box i cannot have just the one unfortunatly resistence if futile,i should be the Tennis X chocoholic,i also work in a care home for the elderly, and they are all so nice that they always offer you chocolates, and you dont like to say no for fear of offending them, well thats my excuse anyway lol:))..

Hippy Chic Says:

Purcell Lindt chocolates are delicious too, nothing to do with Roger, but you cannot beat Belgium chocolates,i have to say Swiss cheese is the best cheese though IMO.

Okiegal Says:

@Chic

I’ve never seen Belgian chocolates in my hometown of Ada. I will probably have to go to Oklahoma City to find them……you got me curious. My husband’s family came to the US from Belgium. There’s only one woman tennis player he ever would watch and that was Clijsters, simply because she was a Belgian!! I’ll have to admit, she was also a favorite of mine!

Hippy Chic Says:

Okiegal Kim was always one of my favorite female players,i enjoyed her style of tennis,i enjoyed watching Henin too i just didnt care for her personally.

Purcell Says:

Hippy chic, I go to Belgium on Eurostar every year but tend to bring beer back as no one in our house is fond of chocolate whether it’s from there, Switzerland or one of the myriad specialist choc shops springing up on UK. Brighton is a good example with one alley featuring Montezuma, Choccywoccydoodah and Hotel du Chocolate (questionable spelling here.)I’ sure you’ve been there.
My taste has changed from sweet to savoury over the years so a nibble of Gruyere is preferable although I must say that what the Mexicans do with choc is very interesting.
