Juan Martin del Potro shared a new video of his latest training routine. The former US Open champion is recovering from left wrist surgery, and based on his workouts, he looks like he’ll be ready for 2015.

“I want to share with you this video, that sums up my first (2/3) weeks of pre-season training in Argentina.
Gym sessions, running in the beach and lots of tennis! I’m very happy with the results so far and feeling better everyday. Hope you enjoy it!,” del Potro posted.

I like how del Potro added Survivor’s “Burning Heart” song from Rocky as his background music:

Still whacking the ball with grunts! Lol

jane Says:

it’ll be interesting to see how strongly he returns. no doubt he could be a huge threat next year. he is really at peak age.

Daniel Says:

When is he returning to play, AO or earlier?!

SG1 Says:

His talent has never been in doubt. A healthy and focused DelPo could do serious damage at any tournament. The key is that health thing….

contador Says:

He looks a bit heavy.

Get in shape, Delpo!

Hippy Chick Says:

Im hoping hes ready for the AO,although i dont think its realistic to expect instant success, never the less,he has the talent and big game to trouble the very best, good luck Delpo and welcome back, especially to Emily if shes reading ;))….

TennisVagabond.com Says:

He’s whalloping that FH, but it was the left wrist this time, and his BH seemed conspicuously less aggressive.

Hope he comes back strong, and soon.

Brando GOAT poster Says:

The toughest player on the tour mentally not named Nadal, Federer. He’ll come back stronger and harder after this. Some folks have a fighting spirit that sees them overcome even the bleakest of obstacles: delpos one of them. Vamos Delpo!

Emily Says:

Hey Hippy Chick, definitely reading. I was happy at how good his backhand looked compared to earlier in the year, since that was the shot that caused him so much pain before the surgery. His forehand always sounded stronger than his backhand. It’s so hard to know what will happen when he comes back, but he did it once, got back to the top, beating the best players, and he can do it again.

It was interesting that I heard a few commentators remark on Delpo’s absence at the WTF. I think it was Tom Rinaldi that said it may have been a lopsided tournament b/c more experienced players like Delpo and Rafa weren’t there. While I have respect for the newcomers this year, I do think the field was more competitive in 2013 and hearing Delpo get some credit for that was great. i can’t wait to see what he can achieve this year and I know he wouldn’t release this video if he wasn’t hungry for another slam and had the belief he can compete at the highest level.

Michael Says:

I hope Del Potro makes a comeback atleast in 2015 ? Throughout 2014, there were misleading reports about his comeback, but it never happened. And what a pity that this player’s career has been curtailed due to injuries which has plagued him right throughout and destroyed him emotionally. Thankfully, he is still young and can still make it big. Apart from his US Open win in 2009, Del Potro has not even won a Masters title and that is literally shocking to note. So, let us hope for the best and welcome him as soon as he enters the scene and displays his bludgeoning forehands and ferocious double handed back hand enthralling us all with his immense talent.
