At the post-Oscars Vanity Fair party, tennis greats Roger Federer and Serena Williams ran into each other and with camera videos rolling, the two debated who is the better player:

Unfortunately, the video was cut off so we missed out on who won the argument. Maybe that’s how it should be.

Humble Rafa Says:

Now I see how he got his knee injured. These are arguments you cant win. Worse, you can get hurt.

Van Persie Says:

Academy awards revisited, mutual assli_king at its finest ;)

skeezer Says:

VP, The greatest was there, others weren’t ;)
Get over it.

Van Persie Says:

Well, when you are not able to play tennis on courts at your best anymore, then you try do it on the red carpet ;)

Van Persie Says:

P.S. Margaret Court and Steffi Graf weren’t there, the greatest from WTA

skeezer Says:

The more you talk, the more it sounds like jealousy. He got invited, big difference. You need an invite to attend, and it was nice that the Academy recognizes the greatest achievements of the Tennis Industry, just like the Academy does for film.

skeezer Says:

Court and Graf are in a different era btw…

RZ Says:

Very cute.

Van Persie Says:

Skeezer,

“it was nice that the Academy recognizes the greatest achievements of the Tennis Industry, just like the Academy does for film.”…birds of a feather, flock together

Just for you the opinion from a good actor (incomparable to the Titanic guy) on Oscar prizes:

I will go now offline, it was fun teasing U ;)

chrisford1 Says:

Serena and Roger were arguing who is the Greatest? Does that mean that Roger was advocating for himself, of course, and Serena was taking the side of maybe Laver, maybe Djokovic??

skeezer Says:

CF1,
Making up stuff again eh? Typical.

Wog Boy Says:

VP,

Margaret Court would never fit in that circus called Academy Awards, she is way above that, Margaret Court is a legend that fulfilled her life, during and after tennis, like no other tennis player, male or female, did. She distanced herself long time ago from tennis organizations and don’t want anything to do with them.
She only comes to Melbourne to watch AO out of respect for the Aussie tournament (and beautiful court named after her) and Hopman cup in Perth where she lives and runs her church and church channel:

Just listen to her (only two minutes clip) and how she practiced:

chrisford1 Says:

Skeezer, you don’t detect joshing too well.

Van Persie Says:

WB,

Thank you for the link. I will watch it at home, as I have limited acces at work to watch You Tube.
Well, I also feel a bit bad mentioning Margaret Court in a discussion about Oscar ceremonies…

CF1,

Skeever does not like joshing. He’s a professional on this site ;)

Van Persie Says:

Correction: Skeezer

Van Persie Says:

P.S WB…”where she lives and runs her church and church channel”…have only to say, that I am not a greatest fun of such things, this is another kind on “circus”. Sorry, do not mean to offend anybody…only my humble opinion

Wog Boy Says:

VP,

Respect your opinion, but I think I didn’t put it quite properly, it is not “her church”, she is just the pastor in that church and believer in that what she is preaching is right, and that is what I respect, even I am not part nor member of her denomination, I am of Orthodox fate, though tend to ask to many questions that my priest (and wife) are not happy with, so I am officially banned by my wife to talk religion when priest is coming to bless our house, which is once a year so I can handle it..I mean the ban on religious conversation with our parish priest.

Wog Boy Says:

“Skeezer, you don’t detect joshing too well.”

But he can tell who looks the best in tuxedo..and it is not Nole, Rafa, Andy ..

Green Lady Says:

Would say Roger personally,i think hes had way more competition than Serena, but thats just me.

Van Persie Says:

WB, I was baptised as Orthodox, but I am not a practicant.
I think religion was necessary during history (still is), in order to set some order in the society. I hate it, when religion is used in order to manipulate people (through church)…a lot of crimes took place and still take place in the name of religion….

Wog Boy Says:

VP,

Since Margaret has three sons, maybe on of them is this hot son of the preacher “woman”, I like the version from this great English singer, she sing and looks great:

http://youtu.be/TBH8o8XXnVM

Van Persie Says:

hehe, WB, just saw “Spotlight” a few weeks ago :)))…not really in the mood to think at preachers, priests, cardinals, popes :)

Know the song “Son of a preacher”, was also on the soundtrack from “Pulp fiction” ;)

Wog Boy Says:

VP,

As of recently, lot of crimes around the world (Middle East and North Africa) took place in the name of “democracy”, the most raped word that lost all the meaning..and religions had nothing to do with that, but oil does..

Van Persie Says:

yep, “democracy”…another lovely word :)))

Van Persie Says:

WB, religion is not bad…but I do not like “churches” a lot…and off cours all the wars…

Van Persie Says:

And every war takes place for economical reasons, I meant the masses are manipulated to participate in the name of “church” or “democracy” or another spiritual values…of course I know all that, am not born yesterday

Wog Boy Says:

VP,

Forget about the wars, lets talk about “Pulp Fiction”, I love it and Roger’s older brother Tarantino..

Van Persie Says:

WB,

I also think we should forget about that, we could be banned ;)
Well, I already said I like his movies. Is not the best movie director, but he’s ok.You should see the Hatefull 8, if not already done.

Roger went to the ceremony for Leonardo di Caprio, “best actor of the year”, not for his older brother. Di Caprio can now sleep well, he finally got his carrot

chrisford1 Says:

Van Persie Says:
And every war takes place for economical reasons

=========
Not really. Some wars are on religious hatred (the Muslim launched wars including 9/11), some on dubious ideology (we can save the people of the MIddle East and N Africa by invading them and ordering them to adapt Western Values as part of nation-building). The Gulf War might have been “All about the ooooiiill!”, But 2.5 trillion invested in the US vs Iraq would have made us energy independent and served us better economically. And Afghanistan was not done for the Iran & Stans to Karachi “secret natural gas pipeline” that might generate 15 million a year in the Afghan section. That war has cost us Americans 1.3 trillion. That war was from 9/11 and stupid neocon “nation-building” ideology.

The mounting corruption of America has diminished democracy. The two most obvious examples are no one going to jail from Wall Street and complete ignoring by both parties of the public demand to control illegal immigration and H1Bs and rubber stamped entrance visas for refugees/disaster victims/all relatives of foreigners already here.
