With just weeks before the start of 2021, the ATP became the first tour to announce a partial 2021 schedule.

The men’s tour will begin Tuesday, January 5th in Delray Beach (USA) and Antalya (Turkey) with 250 events. Delray will be a 28 draw, Antalya a 32.

On January 10th, players who lose early the first week and other can compete in the Australian Open men’s qualifying which will be played in Doha thru the 13th.

From there, the tour will head to Australia for 3 Australian Open lead-up events which will all be played in Melbourne.

A 48-draw Adelaide (relocated to Melbourne) and another 48-draw event will run concurrently January 31-Feb 6.

A reduced ATP Cup will take place from February 1-5 with 12 teams.

The Australian Open is confirmed for February 8, per the calendar.

Players will still be required to quarantine for two weeks upon arrival in Melbourne, though details have not been announced but are expected in the coming days if not hours.

The good news is, tennis has been scheduled and players, officials and fans can start making plans at least for the first seven weeks.

“The reconfigured calendar for the start of the 2021 season represents a huge collaborative effort across tennis, under challenging circumstances,” ATP head Andrea Gaudenzi said. “Together with the support of our tournament and player members, partners, and Tennis Australia, we have been able to adapt and create an exciting start to the season. Health and safety will continue to be paramount as we navigate the challenges ahead, and I want to thank everyone involved for their commitment to finding solutions to launch our 2021 season.”

The WTA is also expected to announce their early calendar shortly, likely by the end of the week.

The remained of the 2021 calendar including the status of Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami are forthcoming. As of now, Auckland, Rio and Pune have cancelled for 2021.
