Tennis Previews: Isner, Fish, Roddick Headline ATP Atlanta
Notes: Top 4 seeds receive first round byes, but plenty of good opening round matches including (1) Isner vs. Ram/qualifier winner (Ram coming off Newport SF), (7) Bogomolov vs. (WC) Jack Sock, (8) Soeda vs. X-Man, and (6) Harrison vs. Blake in a U.S. new vs. old match-up; additional wildcards went to Steve Johnson and Brian Baker; Mardy Fish (2011-10) has won the event both years since its re-inception in Atlanta, last year beating Isner and saving match points in brutal temperatures.

Murray Sneaks In; Did Andy Roddick Say Goodbye to Wimbledon?
“I think the quality of tennis improved under the roof,” Murray said. “I was under the impression I was stopping at 11:00 regardless of what the score was. Even if it was in the middle of a game. But, yeah, obviously glad that I managed to get the finish. And the atmosphere at the end was excellent.”

Venus Joins Serena on Early Sidelines at French Open; Thursday Previews
“This is just the beginning for me,” said Venus, happy to be on the court again, and working toward a rankings eligibility to play the Olympics for the U.S. “Again. I have to be positive when I walk out on the court. I’m not playing under ideal circumstances but at the moment it’s about improving Olympic chances so I’ll deal with this somehow.”
